In 1947, a year when the world witnessed the unfolding of a great historical event: the birth of a new nation from an ancient world.
New dreams were dreamt, visions seen and road maps chalked out by an entire generation that had longed and struggled for freedom. These dreams became the foundation of the modern nation.
In the Deep South, in a quaint part of south India a spirit of energy and dynamism was being scripted by the legendary P. Nachimuthu Gounder, a visionary who forayed into many commercial endeavours from his traditional culture of farming. The Anamallais Bus Transport Company was established by him in 1931 and was the founding legacy of what would become a large conglomerate. The pioneer not only had grand plans in commerce but also had a larger vision of nation building through education. His dream was to educate the rural community in technical education and it remains the key driver of all that has emerged.
The vision was carried forward by his successor and son Dr N. Mahalingam, who for the last 6 decades has been steering remarkable societal development through mercantile ventures and educational services. Dr N. Mahalingam, is today a role model for different generations, and is respected for his unparalleled contributions in the spheres of industry, agriculture, politics, social, societal leadership, religion, culture and most importantly education.
India today is in its last leap towards attaining the status of a developed nation. Education will be one of the most important enablers of dream. Sakthi education is a dynamic and future focused group of institutions offering services right from primary education to postgraduate levels. Thousands of students have benefited from the services of Sakthi Educational institutions over the last five decades.
Staying true to the vision of providing learning opportunities for the rural poor, most of Sakthi Education institutions are established in rural areas of Tamil Nadu.
