Sarah Tucker College
Sarah Tucker College, established in 1895 in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, holds the distinction of being the first women’s college in South India. Originating from the vision of Sarah Tucker, a physically challenged woman in England who was moved by the plight of illiterate girls in the region, the college began humbly and has grown into an autonomous institution affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC. Spanning over 40 acres, the college offers a wide array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in arts and science, committed to empowering women through quality education and holistic development, supported by extensive facilities including a well-stocked library, modern laboratories, hostels, and a placement cell.
